No. The Canada Organic and USDA requirements for organic products specify that no GMOs are allowed. All ingredients in Zak Organics snacks are sourced and produced without Genetically Modified Organisms (commonly known as GMOs).
Zak Organics is partnering with the Non-GMO Project to achieve Non-GMO Project Verification on all of our products as well. As our products achieve verification, the package will be updated to include the “Non-GMO Project Verified” seal. You can find more information about the program and their Standard at www.nongmoproject.org
Yes. All Zak Organics products are Canada Organic Certified and USDA Certified Organic by the CFIA accredited certification body, Pro-Cert Organic Systems Ltd.
Look for the Canada Organic or USDA organic seal on the front of our packaging. The Canada Organic and/or USDA seal(s) on our packaging indicates that our snacks have been produced according to the Canadian Organic Standards and the USDA’s National Organic Program standards. These standards state that organic foods must be grown without the use of synthetic pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, sewage sludge, genetically modified organisms or ionizing radiation, and produced without the use of synthetic preservatives or artificial ingredients.
The organic green peas in our products are grown on the Zak family farm in Fir Mountain, Saskatchewan, and transported to our manufacturing facility in Moose Jaw. We are proud to keep every aspect of production, packaging and shipping within 200 km of our farm!
Green peas belong to the same family as beans, lentils, and chickpeas. They are a good source of dietary fiber, iron, protein, folate, phosphorus, potassium, vitamins B1 and B5, and are naturally low in fat.
All Zak Organics snacks are made in a dedicated nut-free facility.
Yes! All of our products are gluten-free. We took extra care making sure our snacks were made without wheat, barley, rye or other gluten ingredients.
Yes! All of our products are dairy-free.
